Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)

Supporting students with SEND at Roots

At Roots, we believe that every teacher is a teacher of SEND. We are passionate about supporting all our learners, recognising that every young person's journey is unique. We know that connection and belonging are integral to helping learners with SEND thrive, so we place relationships and inclusion at the heart of everything we do. Sometimes needs may have been overlooked or missed in the past, but here we are committed to noticing, understanding, and meeting those needs with care and expertise and without judgment. By meeting our learners where they are, we create an environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

SENCO Liz Key

As the SENCO at Roots 4 Learning, I work hard to ensure that all our learners have their needs met and fully understood by all. We are fortunate at Roots to have a staff team of highly experienced SEND practitioners who are passionate about this area of work. Through collaboration with our parents/carers, schools, local authorities and external agencies, we aim to provide tailored support that nurtures both learning and wellbeing.
