Why we need your help
We are currently inundated with calls and emails from parents who are concerned that their child is struggling to get into school, sometimes for months. This can happen for a variety of reasons including special educational needs, anxiety and mental health difficulties, experience of bullying and sensory issues.
Often there is no diagnosis. Most of these young people have no Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and no funding in place. Getting an assessment or a plan agreed can take months.
While they wait, their child is isolated at home. Friendships fade and anxiety builds. The longer it goes on, the harder the way back becomes.
What one day a week for a term can do
For a young person who has been isolated at home, one day a week gives them a reason to get dressed and leave the house, and people who expect to see them. Across a term that day becomes something to count on. Confidence comes back and learning starts to feel safe again.
Sponsor a place
Choose the level that suits your business, or give whatever you can. Every donation, however small, helps another young person get a place at Roots.
Any amount is warmly welcomed.
Thank you to our business supporters
Businesses that sponsor a place receive:
- Logo on our supporters page
